ISC Tuesday Keynote Spotlights Cutting-Edge Computing in Aerospace
HAMBURG, Germany, March 04, 2024 – ISC 2024 attendees will be treated to a captivating look at how research at one of Europe’s premier multinational corporation is driving industrial design in the 21st century. In the event’s second keynote on Tuesday, Airbus’ Isabell Gradert will talk about how high performance computing has propelled advances in aviation and what the future of the aerospace industry will need to realize a sustainable future.
In the keynote, Gradert will review how HPC has driven massive progress in the industry and what is needed to keep that progress moving forward. With HPC’s reliance on Moore’s Law coming to an end, novel approaches will be required. At the same time, new requirements in aerospace design, especially with regard to sustainability, will present new challenges to the industry. Gradert will take a look at how emerging technologies, including quantum computing, could help meet those needs.
Isabell Gradert is an aerospace engineer based in Bremen, Germany. With more than 14 years of experience at Airbus, she has a broad background in engineering, research, and technology. As Vice President of Airbus’s Central Research & Technology, Gradert plays a key role in the company’s efforts to develop technologies for the company’s current and upcoming products and services for its commercial aircraft, helicopters, and spacecraft. The research in this organization focuses on sustainability, safety, security, and operational excellence.
